DigiStream® Helps Claims Professionals...

AOE/COE

As an industry staple, AOE/COE investigations cover a wide range of services, including recorded statements, record retrieval, person locates, scene investigations, and a myriad of additional services. Investigations will be tailored to the specifics of each case and client requests. In particular, DigiStream® weaves its capabilities into each AOE/COE investigation, performing background and social media screens on the claimant prior to obtaining a statement so any inconsistencies can be addressed in the context of the claim file.

AOE/COE investigations are perhaps one of the best tools in a proactive claims adjuster’s toolkit, as additional services such as Surveillance, SocialPro PLUS® or Medical Sweeps can be completed with a higher chance for success based on the information gathered during the investigation. Successful and in-depth education on the claims process is required of every AOE/COE investigator who works for DigiStream®.

ALIVE and WELL

An Alive & Well check is an in-person interview which ensures the claimant or beneficiary is, in fact, living and receiving benefits. Interviews will also touch on the claimant’s activities and beneficiaries. As with all DigiStream® services, a brief background and social media scan is performed and any relevant information as it pertains to the benefits process is brought to the attention of the claims professional. These investigations are conducted in a professional and tactful manner by trained investigators familiar with the goals of the client.

Medical Sweep

A medical sweep is an innovative and legal way to uncover the existence of medical records which may have been concealed, either purposefully or inadvertently, by claimants. At the direction of the client, DigiStream® identifies a geographic location on which to center the search (often a claimant’s residence or a location where there is suspicion that a non-industrial injury took place) and canvasses medical facilities within a 30 mile radius.

The results are HIPAA-compliant and show the admittance date and location of treatment. A signed HIPAA release can then be obtained from the claimant in order to retrieve the physical medical files. The results of the sweep can be used to enhance an AOE/COE investigation or simply as an inexpensive fact-finding service to determine whether further investigation of suspected pre-existing injuries or conditions is warranted.

Although medical facilities such as hospitals and emergency care centers tend to be the primary focus of these canvasses, our medical sweep service can also be used to target medical specialists, such as chiropractic providers, as well as pharmacies, urgent care facilities, gyms and fitness centers.
